My name is Shannon Brady – I am 24 years old + currently residing in Chicago, Illinois. I attained my Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in Applied Nutritional Science along with a minor in Human Development + Family Studies. A little bit about me personally: I was born + raised in the Steel City that is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am very passionate about my city + proud of where I came from. Yes, I do use the word “pop” instead of “soda.” That is a real thing. You are welcome for Heinz ketchup too I love Love L O V E the Steelers, Pirates, + Penguins. I LOVE being outdoors. Though I don’t do it often, I love to travel + see new places. My family is e v e r y t h i n g to me. I have the two most amazing parents who I owe everything to for making me the person I am today. I am also sandwiched between the two most wonderful brothers any person could ever have: Daniel  + Patrick  – they mean the world to me + I would do absolutely anything for them. I also have an 8 year old beagle/spaniel mix pup named Merlin – he is always getting himself into trouble but I love him to pieces anyway.
Here in Chicago, I currently work full time as a child care provider for a close family friend. I am also a Blogi for CHAARG – a health + wellness organization created to inspire thousands of girls across the country. I am also an Ambassador with Plexus Worldwide – a health + wellness company that offers a wide array of plant-based products for people who are looking to better themselves in any area of their health. I am planning to enroll in an accelerated BSN/RN program in August 2018 + become a registered nurse by December 2019. Figuring out what I truly want to do with my life has been no easy task but it is all a learning experience + patience is a virtue, friends.
I had a professor at Penn State who shared a quote with us on the very first day of class + it has stuck with me ever since: “I can teach it to you but I cannot learn it for you.” The same concept applies on my website: I can recommend something for you + I can motivate you, but I cannot do it for you. You are in control – YOU take charge + make my recommendation part of your routine. I want to help you in every way that I can possibly can but there is only so much I can say or do – bottom line, YOU are the control factor.
